Bulla of Isaiah

A bulla is a round seal that was once affixed to an official document. These seals would indicate who the document came from. Many bulla have been found in archaeological digs. Some came from people who are named in the Bible. This one was found in 2009 that is believed to have been from the Prophet Isaiah because it was found in the same area as bulla of King Hezekiah. These two are known to have been in contact with each other (2Kings 19-20, 2Chr. 32, Isaiah 37-39). The impression reads, “(belonging) to Isaiah”
